Prep Enrolment 2026
The Department of Education has released an updated statewide Foundation (Prep) enrolment timeline for the 2026 school year.
The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child into Foundation (Prep) at a Victorian government primary school, including Bayswater West Primary School. All government primary schools will follow the timeline in 2025 to support Foundation (Prep) enrolments for the 2026 school year.

You will be able to apply to enrol your child in Foundation (Prep) 2026 at Bayswater West Primary School from 22 April 2025.

You will be able to apply to enrol your child in Foundation (Prep) 2026 at Bayswater West Primary School from 22 April 2025.
What you need to do:
- Contact our school via phone (9729 3394) or email ([email protected]) to book a school tour or to learn more about our school and the enrolment application process.
- Download the Foundation (Prep) enrolment information pack from Enrolling in Foundation (Prep) (available by 22 April 2025). This pack includes an application form, which you can also request from our school.
- Submit an enrolment application for Foundation (Prep) by Friday 25 July 2025.
- You will be notified of the outcome of your application between Monday 28 July and Friday 8 August 2025. If you receive an enrolment offer, you should contact our school to accept the offer by Friday 22 August 2025.
- Take part in enrolment information and transition sessions during Term 4, 2025.
- Prepare your child to start Foundation (Prep) from Wednesday 28 January 2026.

Transition Program for Prep 2026
Our Transition to Prep Program begins in Term 4, 2025 and is aimed at making each new Prep student feel comfortable, happy and eager to start the new school year in 2026. The program offers classroom sessions, a chance to meet their buddies and specialist teachers and, at the final session, allocation to their 2026 class and teacher. You will receive more information about our transition sessions throughout the enrolment process.
