Introducing Friendology! - 14/10/20
We are excited to introduce Friendology in Term 4 to our students. This program is designed to empower students with skills and strategies that support them to build and maintain positive friendships but also respond to friendship conflicts in a positive way. The program also implements a shared language across the school community, better supporting students through the ups and downs that occur during friendships.
To celebrate the introduction of this new program, we dressed up as Friendship Ninjas and dedicated the day to activities that encouraged students to reflect on their friendships and think about what it means to be a good friend. Watch this video to see what students got up to during our Friendology Day. |

Wellbeing Wednesday: Creative Arts Day - 9/09/20
We're back with another Wellbeing Wednesday and this week students embraced their creative sides. Homemade playdough creations, artwork, dressing up and of course some cooking and baking were on the day's agenda. It sure was great to see the amazing creations students came up with and we'd like to extend a warm thanks to all of our BWPS families for always getting into the spirit of these days and making them as fun as possible.
Here's a video creation of our own about this week's Wellbeing Wednesday. |

This week we got our hearts racing during Wellbeing Wednesday. Competing for house points, students completed a range of fun activities around the home such as the toilet paper challenge. We loved seeing whole families get involved in this fun day and we'd like to say a big thank to our Year Six Captains for leading this day. If you missed out on the fun, watch this video to get in on some of the action.
Finally, a big congratulations to Green House who took out 1st place! |

Introducing Wellbeing Wednesday! - 19/08/20
We know it's been hard for students and families learning from home so to make things a little more exciting, we've introduced Wellbeing Wednesdays. Breaking the routine of reading, writing and math lessons, students will instead engage in fun, hands-on activities which encourage the whole family to get involved.
To kick-off, this week's Wellbeing Wednesday was centered on Science, in celebration of Science Week. Watch this video to see what kind of creative experiments students got up to. |

100 Days of Prep - 11/08/20
Today our Preps of 2020 celebrate 100 Days of School! This is an exciting milestone in their school lives and as a school community we are very proud of their achievements so far. It has been wonderful to see our Preps grow and develop socially, emotionally and academically, finding their voice and sense of belonging in our community. Although our students, families and staff were unable to celebrate in our usual style, our Prep teachers made sure students had a day to remember, celebrating online instead. Our staff even made a video in honour of the 2020 Preps, watch it here.

We're very excited to announce that BWPS is introducing a brand new music program! With a passionate music teacher and instruments such as drums, guitars, keyboards and ukuleles, our students will be ready to rock'n'roll in no time. We're looking forward to seeing this program become an important part of school life here at BWPS, inspiring students to find their inner musician.

From our Staff to our Students 8/05/20
Remote learning certainly isn't what we anticipated this year but our students and staff have stepped up to the challenge. We know it's not easy learning from home and we're doing our best to keep students, families and staff connected through video meetings, live teaching videos and interactive, hands-on learning activities. Our staff know though that sometimes, you need to go the extra mile to show people how much you care. That's why we created a collage for our students, showing them just how much we miss having them at school. Check out a close-up of the collage here.
