Welcome to Bayswater West
On behalf of the students, parents and staff at Bayswater West Primary School welcome to our school website.
At Bayswater West Primary School your child will be taught through a well-balanced and comprehensive Victorian Curriculum Framework which focuses on the learning of key skills in English and Maths. At Bayswater West, we provide a wide range of opportunities that aim to equip students with the skills and dispositions needed to lead meaningful and fulfilling lives. In today’s world we need to prepare our students for life, further education, employment and technologies, some of which have not yet been created.
A key feature of our school's curriculum design is our ongoing commitment to The Arts (Dance, Drama, Music and Visual Arts), Physical Education/Sport, Languages and STEAM. With the support of our school council, we have invested heavily in creating modern learning facilities that are fully equipped with the latest equipment and technologies that allow students to explore and showcase their creativity.
Our school provides a safe, caring and challenging environment with a commitment to the physical and mental wellbeing of all students through a whole-school approach to wellbeing that is based upon Positive Education. Our aim is to ensure that students are flourishing through positive emotions, engagement, positive relationships, meaning, achievement and health (PERMAH). Positive Education is taught over a two year cycle through programs and approaches such as ‘Friendology’, ‘Smiling Minds’, Character Strengths, Zones of Regulation, Positive Behaviours, Growth Mindset, Identity and Health.
Our Motto – ‘High expectations of all learners’ encompasses everything we do at BWPS and we support every student to reach their full potential in their own way through our school values of integrity, care, respect, curiosity and persistence.
