Physical Education
At Bayswater West Primary School, we aim to instill in students a passion for physical activity and awareness for physical and mental health.
Through weekly 60 minute lessons, students explore movement and physical activity. In these sessions, students learn about and work toward mastering the fundamental motor skills of balancing, running, jumping, catching, hopping, throwing, galloping, skipping, leaping and kicking. These skills are contextualised through games and team sports, which not only introduces students to a wide range of physical activities but also supports students to develop an awareness of the importance of strategy in sports. This consequently creates opportunities for students to learn through physical activity exploring concepts such as teamwork and leadership.
