Enrol Now for 2027!
The Department of Education has released an updated statewide Foundation (Prep) enrolment timeline for the 2027 school year.
The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child into Foundation (Prep) at a Victorian government primary school, including Bayswater West Primary School. All government primary schools will follow the timeline in 2026 to support Foundation (Prep) enrolments for the 2027 school year.

You will be able to apply to enrol your child in Foundation (Prep) 2026 at Bayswater West Primary School from Monday 20th April 2026.
What you need to do:
Enrolment applications submitted after Friday 31st July 2026 will be processed by our school as they are received, in accordance with the department’s Placement Policy.

What you need to do:
- Visit the Find my School website to find your designated neighbourhood school (your local school) for 2027 and other nearby government schools.
- Contact our school via phone (9729 3394) or email ([email protected]) to book a school tour or to learn more about our school and the enrolment application process.
- Download the Foundation (Prep) enrolment information pack from Enrolling in Foundation (Prep) (available at the beginning of Term 2). This pack includes an application form, which you can also request from our school.
- Submit an enrolment application for Foundation (Prep) by Friday 31st July 2026.
- You will be notified of the outcome of your application between Monday 3rd August and Friday 14th August 2026. If you receive an enrolment offer, you should contact our school to accept the offer by Friday 28th August 2026.
- Take part in enrolment information and transition sessions during Term 4, 2026.
- Prepare your child to start Foundation (Prep) from Friday 29th January 2027.

Transition Program for Prep 2027
Our Transition to Prep Program begins in Term 4, 2026 and is aimed at making each new Prep student feel comfortable, happy and eager to start the new school year in 2027. The program offers classroom sessions, a chance to meet their buddies and specialist teachers and, at the final session, allocation to their 2027 class and teacher. You will receive more information about our transition sessions throughout the enrolment process.
